Host Homes
The primary aim of a Host-Home Provider is to deliver the necessary support for an adult with developmental disabilities to engage fully in society. Our providers collaborate with Dastrup to accomplish this in various ways, including:
-
Offering a warm, family-like environment where the individual feels integrated and valued.
-
Attending to the person’s physical, emotional, and mental health needs.
-
Creating personalized Enhanced Life Plans that promote self-reliance and active participation in the community.
-
Assisting with activities like recreation, employment, and daily personal care tasks.
Supported Community Connections
Everyone deserves the opportunity to be part of their community and live a fulfilling life, regardless of their abilities. Meaningful experiences—like shopping, enjoying parks, and volunteering—should be accessible to all. Our friends with developmental disabilities have so much to offer, and with the right support, they can fully participate and thrive. When everyone is included, communities become stronger and more connected.
Here’s why inclusion matters:
-
Equal Opportunities – Everyone should have access to the same experiences, from recreation to daily tasks like managing money.
-
Community Engagement – People with developmental disabilities should be able to contribute and participate in their communities just like anyone else.
-
Personal Fulfillment – Simple joys, like spending time outdoors or helping others, enrich lives and create a sense of purpose.
-
Support Makes a Difference – Some individuals may need extra help, but with the right resources, they can engage fully and meaningfully.
-
Stronger Communities – When everyone is included, communities thrive through diversity, connection, and shared experiences.
By fostering inclusivity, we help ensure that every person, regardless of ability, has the chance to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
